Bikecab advertiser: $10/hour, operates as an employee of the Ballpark Pedicabs Co; pedal tricycle through designated areas with advertisement of participating businesses and events. This part of the job does not involve transporting passengers except when directed by employer - maximum 10 hours per week. Pedicab driver: operates as an independent contractor and enters into a lease agreement with Ballpark Pedicabs. This part of the job involves transporting passengers - minimum 9 hours and up to 40+ hours a week. No hourly pay, you keep all money earned. A Pedicab is a three wheeled tricycle;you will be giving tourists rides on your pedicab for $1.00 per minute or $3-$6 per person. You need $450 for fees/deposit.The cost of the lease is $300 per week or $1100 per month.

This is an extremely physically demanding job; you will be riding passengers (sometimes up to 3 people at a time weighing hundreds of pounds) all throughout the city (including hills). This job is only successful for those that can do this kind of physical activity on a regular basis. You also need to have a great attitude and be able to approach people in order to attract business. Also be aware that business can fluctuate greatly; and some weeks business can be extremely limited and very slow (you need to be able to sustain yourself during these slow periods).

You need to have a neat and clean appearance. You must be freshly showered and use the proper grooming aids such as deodorant. We suggest bringing Khaki/Tan colored shorts or pants, white tennis shoes, and you will be given a Ballpark Pedicabs t-shirt as part of your professional appearance. And should be worn each shift—if you wish to purchase additional shirts they are $10 each.

Housing is expensive in San Diego, so arrive in groups to share the cost. Second jobs are permitted, however, they must not affect your job performance at Ballpark. This job can be very enjoyable for someone who wants to see San Diego. You, as a Pedicab operator will learn firsthand how to run your own business. You will also get to know every street and area of San Diego as you bike your customers around town. You will be practicing your English everyday and getting to know people not only from San Diego, but from all over the US and around the world. San Diego has the famous Gas Lamp District which provides nightlife and hundreds of restaurants to locals and vacationers, as well as the ball park which attracts people for many different events all year round.
